Briefing by News4U · First published

In this morning’s News4U market wrap, Cointelegraph reported that Brazilian crypto exchange Mercado Bitcoin said it will begin restoring customer account access on Monday after a hack that blockchain analysts estimated at more than $46 million in stolen assets. Customers would first regain website access to view balances, statements, holdings and investments, while transfers, withdrawals and trading would resume in later phases subject to independent security testing. Mercado Bitcoin pledged to use company funds to replenish affected assets and said more than $15 million in stolen funds had already been frozen with industry help; it also cited a strong cash position bolstered by a $20 million investment from stablecoin issuer Tether.
