Zelenskyy says Oleshky rescue done under Melania Trump–brokered ceasefire

Today Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on X that a humanitarian operation to rescue people in Oleshky in the Kherson region has taken place under a local ceasefire, that Ukrainian citizens from Oleshky have crossed into Ukraine in the Chernihiv region, and that he thanked U.S. First Lady Melania Trump for mediation. He said roads to Oleshky were cleared of mines and humanitarian aid was delivered, thanked Ukraine’s Human Rights Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets and the Defense Forces for securing the mission, and called for further de-escalation and progress toward peace.
