Briefing by News4U · First published

After Israel’s election, Benjamin Netanyahu told supporters he wants a strong right-wing government and floated further action against Iran with Donald Trump, while Gadi Eisenkot warned him not to use Israel’s security for political ends, The Guardian reported.

The Guardian reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu greeted cheering supporters in Jerusalem and, without directly claiming victory, called for a “strong government of the right” and said the “Jewish and Zionist majority must unite.” [1]

In the same speech, Netanyahu again hinted at further action against Iran alongside US President Donald Trump, saying: “Israel has a unique opportunity with our partner President Trump to forever eliminate the existential threat of Iran.” [1]

Rival Gadi Eisenkot, speaking earlier to supporters in Tel Aviv, issued a warning to Netanyahu: “Netanyahu, don’t you dare use Israel’s security for your political needs,” The Guardian said, amid concerns he could use a conflict to push for a unity government. [1]
