North Korea fires multiple missiles toward East Sea, JCS says

Briefing by News4U · First published

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said Wednesday it had detected the launch of several North Korean missiles from the Sondok area on the country’s eastern coast toward the East Sea, also known as the Sea of Japan, and that Seoul and Washington were analysing the details. Al Jazeera, citing the JCS, said the tests marked Pyongyang’s fourth weapons launch in a month and came after North Korea denied U.S. claims it was behind the Binance cryptocurrency theft. Yonhap reported Kim Yo-jong, sister of leader Kim Jong-un, said dialogue with Washington remains an option for peace but is “not surely equated with national interests,” while denouncing the crypto accusations as a sign of U.S. hostility.
