More than 200,000 join Amsterdam Red Line protest calling for action on Israel

Briefing by News4U · First published

More than 200,000 people marched through Amsterdam on Sunday in a Red Line protest demanding Dutch government action over Israel's war on Gaza, according to the Dutch branch of Amnesty International, one of the organizers, Al Jazeera reported. Many protesters wore red and called for tighter trade restrictions on Israel and a halt to all arms sales. Protester Mike van Dongen said what was happening was 'inhumane' and that Dutch authorities 'don't dare take any serious steps.' Prime Minister Rob Jetten, who took part in a similar march last year, was not present on Sunday. [1]
