US judge dismisses Trump's Wall Street Journal defamation suit with prejudice

A US federal judge dismissed Donald Trump's defamation lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal with prejudice on Saturday, The Guardian reported. Judge Darrin P Gayles found that Trump's amended complaint had still not plausibly alleged actual malice. The ruling prevents him from amending or refiling this lawsuit, following an earlier dismissal in April that allowed a revised complaint. Trump denies the authenticity of the alleged birthday letter to Jeffrey Epstein at the centre of the newspaper's report. His legal team said it would press forward; Dow Jones welcomed the decision.
