EU disclosure details Apple's Ascend.io licensing and hiring deal

A new European Commission disclosure details an agreement Apple reached earlier this year with Ascension Labs, the operator of Ascend.io, ITHome reported. Apple gains the right to offer jobs to and hire certain employees, a non-exclusive license to intellectual property and the ability to receive certain patents. The report describes a licensing and hiring arrangement rather than a purchase of the whole company. ITHome also reported that Ascend.io is winding down operations, but its notice does not mention Apple or explain the reason. [1]
