Jordan's King Abdullah vows iron-fist fight on terrorism after Karak church attack

Briefing by News4U · First published

Today Jordan's King Abdullah II said while opening a new session of parliament in Amman that the treacherous hand of terrorism had reached out to test the resilience of the state and the resolve of the people after last month's deadly attack on a church in Karak. Of the attackers, he said they are not of us and there is no place for them among us, not today and not tomorrow. Al Jazeera reported he made clear Jordan would confront terrorism and extremism through national unity and public awareness, backed by the army and security services striking with an iron fist. The attack about two weeks ago killed nine people and wounded dozens; the king asked lawmakers to stand in silence for the victims. [1]
