Firefox Smart Window adds AI form filling and page watching

Briefing by News4U · First published

Mozilla is updating Firefox's Smart Window beta with AI form filling from open tabs and a /watch tool for page changes, rolling out first on desktop in the US and Canada.

Mozilla is updating Smart Window, Firefox's AI-powered browsing experience, with a feature that can fill online forms using information from open tabs. The Verge reports Mozilla's example of pulling work history from a portfolio or LinkedIn page into a job application. [1]

Users open a form with at least four text fields to see a "Fill from sources" option, choose which tabs to use, and receive generated suggestions. The feature currently supports text fields; Mozilla says it is working on dropdown menus and PDFs. Source-page data is shared with Google's Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite to generate the suggestions. [1]

Smart Window can also watch pages for sales, new job listings, or other updates via a "/watch" chat task, checking daily or weekly while the browser is open and notifying through the Tasks toolbar button or desktop alerts. Watching pauses after 60 days without a detected change and stops after 90 days. Both features are rolling out to the Smart Window beta on desktop in the United States and Canada, with other countries expected in coming months. [1]
