Von der Leyen at V4 summit: enlargement, energy prices and Ukraine strength

Today Ursula von der Leyen said on X that at the Visegrád 4 Summit in Trenčín she brought 3 main messages: the EU is committed to enlargement as a geostrategic necessity; high energy prices are at the top of the agenda and the EU is working to bring them down by accelerating the clean transition, diversifying supplies and pooling demand; and Ukraine must negotiate peace from a position of strength, with continued military support including through the Czech Ammunition Initiative essential, while the Visegrád 4 will also play a key role in Ukraine’s future integration into the EU.
