OpenAI is now valued at $1.25 trillion in a new funding round that has raised another $11 billion, The Verge reported, citing Bloomberg. That would make it one of the world's most valuable companies, not long after it raised $122 billion from investors in March at a valuation of $852 billion. Bloomberg said OpenAI is still pursuing additional investments that could increase the raise to $20 billion, after initially hoping for as much as $30 billion at a $1.4 trillion valuation. Rival Anthropic filed its S-1 to go public last week, while OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has said the company is prioritizing model safety rather than rushing an IPO. [1]
