Briefing by News4U · First published

Google says it has dismantled a backdoor in 1.3 million Android devices and ended its relationship with Shenzhen-based manufacturer Videostrong Technology, The Verge reported. Google alleges the manufacturer intentionally operated a botnet for financial gain, allowing malicious activity including advertising fraud and unauthorized network traffic. Most affected products were Android TV boxes, although other connected devices were also involved. Google says Videostrong is barred from building or selling certified Android devices or supplying their software, and that it has changed its manufacturer review process. [1]
