Apple opens Siri AI to third-party apps with App Skills
Briefing by News4U · First published
Apple will now let Siri AI perform actions across third-party apps. As part of the iOS 27.3 update rolling out on Tuesday, Apple announced developers can integrate Siri AI new features in all apps, allowing the assistant to use personal context, natural-language prompts and on-screen awareness, The Verge reported. The Developer Preview update also adds a new app skills feature so third-party developers can combine several tasks into a single action; Apple says users will not have to mention an app name while it is in the foreground, during a Live Activity, or in a conversation with Siri AI about the app. Apple is also bringing expanded Siri AI capabilities to Calendar, Files, Mail, Maps, Messages, Music, Notes, Photos, Reminders, Safari and other of its own apps.
