Today Elon Musk said on X that Larry Page has made many accurate predictions and that this was one of them. He quoted a post saying Page reportedly put the share of computing that will end up in space at "five nines," or 99.999%. That post said investor Patrick O'Shaughnessy heard the remark secondhand after someone asked Page how much of compute will be orbital. It also cited investor Martin Casado as saying the shift might happen for regulatory reasons, pointing to 500 proposed bills to stop data-center building in the United States, including Texas.
