Apple sets 18+ minimum for dating and romantic AI-companion apps

Apple announced that apps supporting dating or romantic relationships between real users, or sexual or romantic interactions with virtual companions will require a minimum 18+ age rating, ITHome reported. From November 16, developers completing the App Store Connect age-rating questionnaire must declare location-sharing and dating or AI-companion features. Ratings for location sharing will depend on the region. Developers must complete the declarations when submitting app updates or changing the questionnaire, and all apps must finish the process by January 12, 2027. [1]
