The Saudi-led coalition said a Houthi drone targeting Mecca was intercepted and destroyed on Friday morning, Al Jazeera reported, citing coalition spokesman Turki al-Malki. The report also said a missile aimed at western Saudi Arabia was earlier brought down as fighting continued between the Riyadh-backed Yemeni government and Iran-backed Houthis. A Houthi spokesperson denied targeting Mecca or the surrounding region, saying the group's cross-border attacks remain focused on Saudi energy and military infrastructure. [1]
