French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said Sunday that European countries, including France, will join US-mediated Russia-Ukraine talks opening Tuesday in Abu Dhabi, Euronews reported. "The Europeans will be well represented and France will be in Abu Dhabi to take part in these talks," he told RTL and Public Sénat, adding he would not personally attend and had not yet named France's envoy. The 10 and 11 November talks had been presented as trilateral negotiations bringing together Ukrainian, Russian and American officials. Barrot said no agreement with "consequences for the European security architecture" could be "designed, or even discussed" without the Europeans. [1]
