Argentine judge dismisses Milei LIBRA memecoin criminal case

Briefing by News4U · First published

A federal judge cleared President Javier Milei and 10 others, ruling no evidence of fraud or payments to officials.

An Argentine federal judge has dismissed the criminal case against President Javier Milei over his promotion of LIBRA, a memecoin that crashed soon after its launch in February 2025, according to CoinDesk. [1]

The ruling also covers Milei's sister Karina, U.S. businessman Hayden Davis and eight others. Judge Marcelo Martínez de Giorgi found Milei's social media post and the token's collapse insufficient to establish fraud without evidence of a specific deception, and no evidence that Karina Milei sought or received money in exchange for access to the president or that proceeds reached public officials.
