Briefing by News4U · First published

The UK and EU have agreed a 200-page draft SPS deal to remove post-Brexit checks on food and animal products, including £200 Export Health Certificates and £25 Phytosanitary certificates, with UK exports of sausages, shellfish and seed potatoes set to resume; the deal is expected to come into force in the first quarter of 2028 after a six-month delay caused by the change in UK prime minister, and the text will be presented to EU ambassadors on Wednesday ahead of the 20 November summit.
