ITHome reports Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says Apple will unveil its first touchscreen MacBook Pro at 1 a.m. Beijing time on Oct 29, introducing touch input, OLED screens and macOS 27 Golden Gate. The 14-inch and 16-inch models will be lighter than current MacBook Pros and priced above the existing $2,499 starting price. [1]
Apple will stress that the new MacBook Pro is not a Mac-iPad hybrid and that keyboard and trackpad remain primary inputs. Touch will be an optional method for scrolling, zooming and similar gestures. macOS 27 Golden Gate will adapt interface elements based on whether the user is touching the screen or using the trackpad.
