Briefing by News4U · First published

The 60 MW liquid air energy storage national demonstration project in Golmud, Qinghai, successfully connected to the grid and began generating power, marking the engineering and commercial deployment of the technology. The facility, with 60,000 kW capacity, can absorb 600,000 kWh of clean energy daily and deliver about 180 million kWh annually, meeting the yearly electricity needs of 30,000 households. It uses a -194°C cryogenic liquefaction process with air as the working medium and achieves full domestic equipment localization, ranking first globally in storage power and capacity. The project was developed by China Green Development Group. [1] [2]
