Tibet Party committee meets on 7.0 quake, orders winter aid and reconstruction

The Paper reports Tibet’s Party committee convened on Oct 24 to study Xi’s instructions and central leaders’ directives, directing winter relief and reconstruction after the 7.0 quake in Nagqu’s Baqing county.
The Paper reports that on October 24 the Tibet Autonomous Region Party Committee Standing Committee met to study Xi Jinping’s instructions and directives from Li Qiang, Wang Huning and Cai Qi on the 7.0-magnitude earthquake in Nagqu’s Baqing county, and to plan further relief work. [1]
The meeting opened with a moment of silence for the quake victims. Officials said rescue efforts are now in the transitional resettlement phase and stressed the need to combine emergency aid with long-term reconstruction, ensure safe winter housing, speed infrastructure repairs and carry out risk inspections.
