Binance reports $6.3 billion hack; Zhao rebukes Musk

Sina Finance reports that Binance suffered what may be the largest cryptocurrency theft in history, with affected funds totaling $6.3 billion. Founder Zhao Changpeng stated on X that Binance was hacked and assured users their funds are safe. Zhao also told Elon Musk, who reacted to a post comparing Zhao to the disgraced Sam Bankman-Fried, “Elon, I respect you very much, but now is not the time for jokes, please don’t do this.” Zhao added that Binance’s SpaceX shares, bought for $500 million during Musk’s Twitter acquisition, are now worth over $1 billion.
