BOK sees South Korea consumer inflation staying in upper 2 pct range in November
Briefing by News4U · First published
The Bank of Korea said consumer prices are expected to stay in the upper 2 percent range in November, driven by persistent core inflation and global oil prices, after October inflation eased to 2.8 percent from 2.9 percent in September. Deputy Governor Lee Ji-ho noted that prices of private services and durable goods remained elevated, while agricultural product prices fell 1.7 percent year-on-year and petroleum product prices rose 14.9 percent. Core inflation stood at 2.8 percent in October. The BOK will monitor developments ahead of its next policy meeting on November 26. [1] [2]
