Former Politburo member Ma Xingrui indicted for bribery by Yichang City Procuratorate

RFI Chinese reports that the Yichang City Procuratorate has indicted former Politburo member Ma Xingrui on bribery charges, alleging he used his positions at China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, Guangdong province and the Politburo to accept large bribes. The indictment follows his expulsion from the Communist Party and dismissal from public office in July after an investigation by the National Supervisory Commission. Prosecutors state that Ma Xingrui used his authority to seek benefits for others and received particularly large sums of money. This brings the total number of indicted senior officials in 2026 to 51 according to Caixin. [1]
