SHINE device produced its first free-electron laser beam using a 4 GeV superconducting linac and 18 undulators.
Wall Street CN reported that the SHINE hard X-ray free-electron laser facility achieved its first light after a 4 GeV continuous-wave superconducting linear accelerator drove 18 undulators, each 4 m long with a 55 mm magnetic period. [1]
