Hackers claim Rosstat breach shows 390,000+ Russian deaths in Ukraine war

Euronews World reported that hacker groups Kiberpartizany BY and Silent Crow claim to have breached Russia’s Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), stealing about 23 terabytes of data that they used to estimate Russian deaths in the Ukraine war at 393,881 and 450,100 respectively as of 27 August 2026.
