China leads global renewable energy with $940 billion 2026 investment

On November 7 the China Enterprise Reform and Development Research Association released the Global Energy Transition Report 2026, stating China has built the world's largest and fastest-growing renewable energy system and will invest $940 billion in energy in 2026, the highest amount globally. The report says China supplies 70% of global wind power equipment and 80% of solar modules, driving worldwide wind and solar generation costs down more than 60% and 80% respectively. In the first half of the year coal-fired power fell to 49.7% of generation, below 50% for the first time. [1] [2]
