UK to launch AI wildfire unit and fund military support after record summer blazes

The Guardian reports that the UK government will create an AI Cobra unit to detect wildfires after this year’s record-breaking summer, which saw the hottest temperatures on record and triggered emergency mobile alerts in England and Wales. [1]
