More than 230 million eligible voters head to the polls on Tuesday to elect all 435 House seats, 35 Senate seats and 36 governors in the US midterm elections, widely viewed as a referendum on President Trump’s agenda. Polls open at 5am ET in Vermont and close as late as 1am Wednesday in Alaska, with first results expected Tuesday evening. Democrats need a net gain of four Senate seats and three House seats for majority control. Republicans currently hold both chambers. [1] [2] [3]
